Sides get chosen last, in a hurry, usually while somebody is already reaching for their wallet. Which is a shame, because two or three of ours will happily carry a lunch on their own.
The three salads
Macaroni salad — $3.99. The most substantial thing in the cold case, and the one most likely to turn a sandwich into an actual meal rather than a stopgap.
Coleslaw — $2.99. Cold, sharp, and the right answer next to anything that came out of the fryer. If you are getting Buffalo wings, get this too.
Potato salad — $2.99. Straightforward deli potato salad, cold from the case, no reinvention attempted.
All three go into containers with lids, so they survive the trip back to a desk.
Fries
$2.50 small, $3.50 large. The extra dollar buys more than an extra dollar usually does — if there are two of you, take the large and stop pretending you will share the small.
The Jamaican beef patty
$2.99, and the most portable thing we sell. Worth remembering on the days you are stopping in between two other places rather than sitting down.

Or stay a while
There is seating through from the counter, in the brick room — proper tables, not a shelf against a wall. None of this has to be eaten standing up or balanced on a passenger seat. We are open until 11:00 pm most nights, and 11:30 pm on Saturdays.
